SKIF Ireland National Squad Training

As Bushido Karate Club is fully affiliated with SKIF Ireland (Shotokan Karate-Do International Federation Ireland), our students will have access to World SKIF and European SKIEF Championships.  Once a student reaches brown belt and is training 3-4 times per week, showing a strong dedication, they will be allowed to train with the SKIF Ireland squad training and try out for the SKIF Ireland National Team.   If successful, you will get to travel the world to represent your country and compete against other karatekas from around the globe.   Information about squad training will be posted on this website, and brown and black belts in the club will be notified by our Instructors.

SKIF Ireland National Championships and Kanazawa Cup

The SKIF Ireland National Championships and other competitions, such as the Kanazawa Cup, occur annually.  The requirement for competing domestically is to have a Valid SKIF Ireland Karate Licence (All Bushido Karate Club Students have this).  There are two categories Kata and Kumite, if taking part in Kumite, a pair of Karate-Do Mitts, and a Gumshield are required.  Females and Juniors have the option of wearing a chest protector.
