High standards at first grading for Douglas Karate School

After months of hard training the time had come for the students of Bushido Karate Club Mahon and Douglas to take their first examinations under world renowned Kancho Kanazawa (10th Belt). For the club, which is now open since January 2011, this was a very important occasion as not only were the students being examined but also the club standard was being put to the test. I am pleased to announce all our students passed their grading with flying colours and Kancho Kanazawa was very happy with the standard of the club. The SKIF Ireland seminar was a huge experience for the students of Bushido Karate Club who up until that point only knew the other students in their club. They now were training and grading alongside hundreds of students from around the country in a national seminar. The learning opportunities in training under Kancho Kanazawa and Suzuki Sensei you cannot put a price on it.

It will always stand to the students of Bushido Karate Club as the signature in their grading books is that of a living legend, the head of Shotokan Karate-Do International Federation worldwide which is an internationally recognised grade. SKIF Ireland is privileged to have Kancho Kanazawa visit each year to ensure the standard remains very high. Only recently at the SKIEF European Championships SKIF Ireland was proud to win gold, silver and bronze medals. By being officially affiliated to SKIF Ireland, this ensures the students of Bushido Karate Club will have the opportunity once they reach black belt to compete at international level and travel the world. For now, the students of Bushido Karate Club in Mahon and Douglas this is the first step in a lifelong pursuit of Karate and they are all training very hard for their next grading which will happen in a few months time.
